Lots of Family Updates

Two weeks old - So everyone bear with me as I try and provide all of our updates, without being long winded.

Carter had his two check-up at the doctors and he has gained an additional 3 oz since his last appointment a week ago putting him at 8 lbs 6 oz. Since we came home from the hospital he has also grown an inch and a quarter making him 21.34 inches long! We can't believe how fast he is growing.... well maybe I can considering I am the one constantly feeding him! :-)
Every time I see this outfit on him I think of my dad since he has a plane... although its pieces so definitely not ready for flight at the moment.

So you can all tell from Nixon's expression what he thinks of our new family situation... No in all honesty he has been wonderful with Carter and we could be happier about it.
This past week / weekend Grandma Kareus was down helping us out around the house. It was so nice to have her here and we were sad to see her leave. Thank-you for all the help Grandma!

Tom, Cody, and Matt hard at work.

Also visiting this past weekend was Uncle Matt, Aunt Jac, and Cody, who can also be considered a Uncle! The boys and Tom put all of the shingles on his out building. We only had one near miss, when Cody fell of off the roof. Thankfully his injuries were minor, and we had no broken bones. Thank-you Cody and Matt, I can only imagine me trying to help Tom if you weren't here. Jac helped us girls out in the house... we... I mean they were baking fools. (We had a little mishap with our deep freeze and had lots of berries to use up.)

Tom, goofing around while the boys worked... just kidding dear, I know you worked your butt off!

Matt and Jac with there new Nephew.
The last update today is that Carter got his first bottle tonight. I figured out how my breast pump worked today and I wanted to make sure that Carter would take a bottle, since we know that some of friends kids struggled to feed off of a bottle. Fortunately for us Daddy got him to take it within a few seconds!

So yes we have had a busy couple of weeks, but are hoping, at least I am to fall into some type of a routine now. I know that it will only be temporary but that's o.k.

We send all of our love to friends and family reading this blog, especially my sister Heidi who has not had a chance to meet her nephew yet. We'll be home soon Heidi, and Carter can't wait to meet you!
