Visit from Grandma and Grandpa Richmond and House Projects...

This past weekend my parents were down visiting. I'll blog about that later as I have all of the house project pictures first. :-) So over the past few weeks Tom and I have been busy getting some house projects done... that just got wrapped up this week / weekend. So I'll start in order of pictures....

Freshly painted garage, although you don't get the full effect unless you saw the before pictures, which I forgot to take. Thanks Mom for helping me finish up. Also in the photo is a black metal shelving unit which I proud to say Tom made. He is so handy! Another good reason to keep him around. :-)
Next project would be my raised bed garden. 20 ft. x 5 ft. Tom and his mom constructed in a few weeks back but I just got it planted this past week due to all of the rain we have been having. Now we'll see how much stuff actually comes up. I planted carrots, beans, cucs, and squash, peppers, and tomatoes.
The front garden bed. This actually is a work in progress, as we redo a little bit each year (to keep the plants in check). We pulled out the massive holly that was hiding my nice rhododendrum.

I have no idea was this is called but it a following scrub that we just put in, and I love it!

And our two cedar trees with the scrub on the edge of the house.

Now on to the visit from my parents. It was a nice relaxing weekend. They got to spend quality time with Carter, Tom and I got a date night! And my dad even got some golfing in! We also cruised around in our new ride.... which I having taken a picture of yet, but will tomorrow. We purchased a used Ford Freestar minivan two weeks ago. I needless to say was less than thrilled, but it was a good deal and it is convenient especially with a car seat! So I have officially become a soccer mom. I can't picture myself driving around in a minivan so when I'm in there I pretend that it is an SUV. Whatever gets me through I guess... well I'm going to keep living in my little fantasy regardless.
So now that I'm done with my little rant about the minivan, :-) here are some pictures from the weekend.
Cater is now obsessed with Nixon, I don't know what he thinks about it, but at least he's tolerant, for now.
Carter and Grandma and Grandpa

Cater loves to walk... but only if he has solid grip on two fingers!
Grandma reading to our little drool bucket. (check out his shirt)
Mom, I actually think that you got a picture for you frame with this one!

Have a great week everyone!
