So you might ask what we have been up to the last month since we obviously haven't blogged in a long time! Well here is what the Kareus Household has been doing...
Grandma and Grandpa Richmond Visit - Carter got to spend a long weekend hanging out with grandma and grandpa. I spent the whole week before their visit telling them how nice the weather had been down here. Well when them came to visit they decided to bring the cold air with them. However they still fond time to get outside with Carter and play on his new swing set.
Grandma Kareus Visit - The day my parents left Grandma Kareus came in to spend her spring break with us. While she was here I had to take a quick business trip to Juarez. Don't worry I was in safe hands and got to go down on one of the company planes. Let me tell you, that is the way to travel. Unfortunately Grandma Kareus didn't bring nice weather with her either, but Carter got lots of loving to make up for not going outside much. I think that she would say it was a very successful visit because we were able to find her dress for Matt's (Tom's Brother's) wedding this summer and she walked her first 5K! Tom Carter and I also participated in the 5K. We ran the whole thing as a family. And just so everyone knows I set the pace. Even pushing Carter Tom is faster than me.
Circus - I didn't bring my camera but we took Carter to the Circus at Yum Center in Louisville. He was excellent for the first half. The second half... well lets just say he made it. I didn't get any pictures at the Circus but I did get one of him and his friend Lincoln afterwards. I think this was the cleanest circus I have ever been too. I remember them being really dirty.
Basketball Hoop - Tom is full of projects, but I'm not complaining. We had a basketball hoop when we first moved to Indiana but the wind blew it over and broke the backboard. So we purchased a new one last month and cemented it into the ground. This one isn't going anywhere. Carter loves it! Well he loves to hand on the rim at least. :-)
Houston - I made a quick trip to Houston for work. I spent two days in a diesel repair shop. It was a very enlightening experience. A trip like this gives you new perspective on the meaning of down time and what that means to the customer. All in all thought it was a good trip.
Heidi and Jim Visit - So you all know Heidi my sister but Jim is a new name. Jim is her boyfriend. Whom we highly approve of, just in case anyone is wondering. They came down to visit us for a weekend. We gave them a little piece of the South when they were here. It was North Vernon's annual Civil War Reenactment. Tom and I have been before. It is very Sweet Home Alabamaish and although it was cold its a nice way to see a piece of history. We also took them down to Clifty in Madison for some hiking. It was a perfect day for hiking and Carter got some much needed time outside with all of the ran we have been having. He loves being outside and did a good job of staying on the trails.
Bridal Shower - Over Easter weekend Mary and I hosted a bridal shower for my soon to be sister in law, who gets a shout out today because she just graduated from the PT program at GVSU. We are very proud of her! We now have doctor in the family. Back to the bridal shower.... it turned our really well and it so nice to see all of the Kareus and Ruhle families that we don't get to spend much time with.
Easter Weekend - We celebrated our 2nd Easter as a family of four. Carter was much more fun this year. Grandma Kareus set up an Easter Egg hunt for Carter and I was very surprised that he actually searched for the eggs, with help that is.
Boy after writing all of that I understand why Tom and I feel like we have been so busy lately! Although it was a busy month it was a great one. Hopefully it won't be a month before I get another post up here.
Pictures can be found below that tell the story I just wrote above, but they aren't in order. This blogger site and I don't always get along and I don't have much time to post let alone organize it. :-)
