My First Christmas!

So we are back from our week long Holiday vacation and unfortunately already back to the daily grind, but I'm not going to waste this update on the grind. So instead here is how are week of vacation went.

The drive up North was uneventful except for Mary (Tom's mom) calling to let us know she had the flu, so we went to my parents for Christmas and Tom's for New Years. It all worked out though, so all is well and I'm happy to report that by the time we got to Gladwin she was feeling much better.

Christmas with Carter was a joy although he liked the bows and wrapping paper just as much as the toys. I'm sure next year that will be different. :-)

Christmas day after present opening we headed over to my Grandma's for the traditional big family dinner. After dinner Tom rounded the troops for a good old fashion game of hide and ghost seek. Now that all of "kids" are bigger finding hiding spots is a bit for difficult... but we still manage. (Yes that is why I am in the dryer).
Yes you will also notice that my cousin Colton's shirt says FU. His older sister Sheena goes to school at Finlandia University and being it is her first year the whole family was outfitted with apparel.

Every day is action packed when were home and on Saturday Tom and I got to enjoy a date night. Avatar was awesome and so was the company. The Sunday we headed out with some family to our local ski establishment. Tom was ecstatic as it was the first time he has been to our little hill.

Monday we went sledding which is becoming a yearly tradition. This year it was a bit rough as my sister ended up with a few bruised ribs and sternum and Tom with a scrap above the eye. No worries though my Uncle and Cousin took out the tree responsible for the injuries. :-)

Only one picture from that day since our camera's died early in the cold weather. Tuesday we headed up to the copper country to see my Mom's side of the family. It was so nice because this is the first time that everyone has been home at the same time in ages! It was nice to visit and while we were there Carter made his first trip to our college! Future Husky in the making!

Wednesday we headed down to Gladwin and of course Carter and us had Christmas again! We are so spoiled. Our time in Gladwin was spent with family and friends visit and hanging out around the house. When were in Gladwin people are always stopping at the house to see us which is a nice change of pace from our trips to the U.P. where we do the traveling.

I also have to note that Carter has his first laughing spree in Gladwin and he had us all laughing. To bad I didn't get it on video! Maybe next time.
