Have I ever said I love the holidays? It is by far my favorite time of year. I always remember this time of year being especially magical as a child and I loved and still love all of the traditions. Granted they are a bit different that when I was growing up but I love the new traditions too. I hope that Carter enjoys this time of year as much as I do as he continues to get big.
This Thanksgiving was spent in Gladwin, and the trip up was uneventful, except for the fact that he had to leave a day early. I found out on Tuesday afternoon that someone from our group needed to be in at a supplier in Grand Rapids on Wednesday morning. Since I was already headed up that way I bit the bullet. So we packed up and headed up Michigan on Tuesday night. All went well and I have to Thank Tom for being the most understanding husband in the world. With all of my traveling Tom has had to change his work schedule basically every week. I'm thankful that he has the ability to do this but am going to work to stay in the office much more next year. (FYI... I'm writing this post from Boston.. only a one night trip this time)
The good news about leaving early was that we missed alot of traffic and got in early Wednesday night.
Thanksgiving was great, lots of food and visiting with family. Carter got to meet his second cousin Zoey who was born two weeks after Carter. Pictures of them below...
Friday I was to tired to get up and go shopping with my mother in law, what can I say other than I never get the chance to sleep in anymore and I wanted to take advantage of it. Although we didn't go shopping we had a busy day. We visited Tom's Grandma and our friends Wess and Linda who had a baby girl, Bella, about 5 weeks ago who is adorable! I forget how little they are! It was nice to catch up even though it was a short visit. Good news is that we both have blogs so we can keep up with each others lives.
Saturday I got fitted for my dress for Tom's brother and my future sister in laws wedding next summer. Love the color of the dress and it is not long so I will be much more likely to wear it again. And my favorite part is it has pockets. After dress fittings we all played rock band and I sung... it must not here tones because I can't sing to save my sole but managed to do quite well. Saturday night we hung out with family and played cards. All in all a great weekend.
Can't wait to celebrate more holidays with family for Christmas.
On a Carter note he is learning so fast... on Sunday we learned that he loves Ketchup! even tried drinking the small container we gave him of it and he learned to drink out of a straw. Hopefully he also learned to not squeeze the juice box! He got a little carried away at the end and soaked his shirt. Despite his facial expression which said this isn't funny it was hilarious!
