December Recap

First let me state that these pictures are out of order but I find it to much of pain to rearrange them.  If anyone who has a blog has a simple way to move pictures once they are uploaded I would love to hear it!

Christmas break this year was awesome! We stayed home and relaxed. Tom's parents came to visit for part of the week so we even got a data night!

Christmas this year with Carter was alot of fun.  He understand the concept of opening presents but after he got one open he wanted to play with it. So it took about 4 hours to open all his girts! Had we known that we probably should have spaced them out so he got one a day.  Favorite gift: Fishing Pole from Grandma and Grandpa K. He plays with it every day!

We didn't sit at home on our butts the entire break. We took Carter out to play at the kids commons in Columbus Monday afternoon. Our friends Nick and Mason met us.  It's amazing that even at this age we need to get the kids out of the house so we don't all go nuts!

And Grandma Kareus and I brought Carter to his first movie the Muppets. He was actually pretty good. He stood on the floor between us most of the movie but didn't bother anyone.  I think that if it had been a Pixar or Disney movie he probably would have sat a little bit better.

Since this was the longest break we have had and stayed at home we also got lots of projects done.  Grandma K helped me wash all of the baby clothes we'll be needing in a few weeks and we got some of the necessities pulled out and cleaned.

Carter appears to love all of the baby stuff... for himself that is so we'll see how that goes with a new little one.

Oh dear he still thinks he fits in this!

Playing Hungry Hippo's with Dad. This is a great toddler game for those of you with little ones.

Playing on the huge play set at the kids commons

Best part about the commons. Adults can play with the kids!

So this part of the post goes back to before Christmas... like I said there is no order to this post.  Here are some pictures of hunt for a Christmas Tree.  At this point in time I have no intention of having a fake tree as our main tree in our house. I like the smell and tradition of finding one!

Here it is!
Carter enjoying the ride back to car!

This is the first year that I've actually made Christmas Cookies. Lets face it, if we are going to be home and our parents make cookies why would I... at least that is what I thought till this year. But we'll probably start the tradition of making sugar cookies at a minimum at Christmas even if we aren't going to be home.

Carter helping!

Finished! And it was done well before Christmas Eve at midnight! My parents have a tradition of us frosting cookies after church on Christmas Eve, problem is that wine is usually involved and Tom has a tendency to make some cookies that are not anatomically correct!
The one cookie that Carter frosted... Tom enjoyed this one!

Picture from Christmas morning, pre destruction.
Carter's first gift! Thanks Gerry and Teresa!
Opening the set of Nerf Guns Santa brought Carter and Tom!
And of course one with Carter and Grandpa K testing out his new fishing pole!
